Penny Pack “TrailLink” by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy
Visit the Pennypack Trail “Extension”, where the Newtown Rail Trail makes a connection at County Line Road (Mile Marker 6.22). Pennypack Trail “Extension” Brochure.pdf. This trail is 6.22 miles long.
All directions are North to South.
Note that this trail ends in Rockledge Park (Mile Marker 0). To continue on “by trail” to the Philadelphia PennyPack Trail, the connection is made at Lorimer Park at Mile Marker 1.0.
- Cross Moredon Road.
- Go through the parking lot down the hill. At the bottom of the hill is a foot bridge on the right.
- Cross the foot bridge and turn hard left (a complete U-turn off the bridge), follow the sign to Pennypack Trail.
- Follow the Pennypack creek, keeping the creek on your left.
- Keep following, you will see a fence and then a set of wooden stairs.
- Follow to the right 100 feet then Cross Pine Road (be careful, there is no pedestrian crossing signs) to begin the Pennypack Trail.

Direction from Rockledge Park to the Philadelphia Pennypack Trail head (Pine Road) by road.
- Make a right out of the park onto Rockledge Ave.
- Make the next right onto Jarrett Ave
- Make the next right onto Shady Lane
- Follow Shady down the hill and make a left onto Pine Road.
- The Pennypack trail head is 1000 feet ahead on the right.
